Trends in high-rise condominiums

Trends in high-rise condominiums
According to the survey report ( by Real Estate Economic Institute Co.,Ltd.), about 110,000 high-rise condominiums of more than 20 stories are already built and planned to be constructed all over Japan.

Hello! Masaki Tanzawa, a licensed real estate broker and property management manager.
Today I will talk about large-scale development in the Tokyo area and the increase of high-rise condominiums.
And I say it is urging the market of property in Japan.

Toranomon redevelopment

There were 280 high-rise condominiums (as of march 31, 2021) scheduled to be completed after 2021, an increase of 77 and 25,306 units compared to the previous survey in 2020.

In the future, there are many high-rise large-scale development and complex redevelopment projects, mainly in central Tokyo and the bay area, and if it is reached to a little less than 15,000 units in 2021, it will exceed 16,000 units in 2022, and in 2023 it will exceed 20,000 units for the first time in 14 years since 2009 (35,607 units).

However, due to the epidemic of covid-19, construction periods have been extended, and some buildings have been delayed from the original plan, so the number of completed buildings and units by this year may change.

Anyway, Tokyo and the surrounding area holds a strong tendency to redevelop in a large-scale, and moreover will provoke the property market in Japan.
